Junior Cycle

Information on Wellbeing

First year students are required to take a number of courses for the Junior Cycle.

These are:

Gaeilge
English
Mathematics
History
Geography
Science
Religious Education
Social, Personal and Health Education
Civic, Social and Political Education
Physical Education

In addition to these, students must elect to take 3 further courses. As the Junior Cycle is a three year programme which lays the groundwork for the Leaving Certificate programme, it is important to choose the elective courses carefully. Together with parents and students, St. Laurence College assists students to choose which courses are most suitable for them, taking full account of their individual interests, abilities and ambitions.
