St Laurence College would like to express its sincere gratitude to Amgen for their generous sponsorship in supporting our STEM programme and enabling students to attend the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition. This trip inspired curiosity, innovation, and a deeper appreciation for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The BT Young Scientist Exhibition is a cornerstone event in Ireland’s STEM calendar, showcasing the creativity, critical thinking, and scientific excellence of young people from across the country. For our students, visiting the exhibition was both motivating and enlightening. They engaged with groundbreaking research projects, interacted with passionate young scientists, and explored real-world applications of STEM subjects beyond the classroom. These experiences helped students to see the relevance of their studies and to envision future pathways in STEM-related careers.
Amgen’s support played a crucial role in making this experience accessible to our students. By investing in education and outreach, Amgen has demonstrated a strong commitment to nurturing the next generation of scientists, innovators, and problem-solvers. This support aligns closely with the values of St Laurence College, where we strive to encourage academic excellence, curiosity, and ambition in all our students.
A Special Thanks must go to Emily Motilall a 4th Year Student who gave an insightful and meaningful interview and to our Teachers Ms Lynch and Ms Miller for making this happen.
On behalf of the students, staff, and wider school community of St Laurence College, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Amgen for their continued support of STEM education. Their contribution has made a lasting difference and will continue to inspire our students well into the future.
