Updates for Parent(s)/Guardian(s) from Mr. FitzGerald and Mr. O' Riordan
Return to School Monday 28th of February
As we return to school after the mid term break, we want to thank you all for your support since the beginning of January. The entire school community has rallied together through a challenging time for all. We are returning after the break to a world of less restrictions, better weather (hopefully!) and many other reasons for hope and positivity. From today, please note the following updates. We would be grateful if you could discuss them with your son/daughter.
1. Uniform
As normality begins to return, so does the expectation of perfect uniform in school. Windows will still be open and therefore common sense will obviously always prevail. Students are asked to be in full uniform everyday, except for their designated PE day. Jackets etc may still be worn in class, until the weather has improved sufficiently for them to be no longer needed.
2. Lockers
We will be returning lockers to students after the midterm break. The school has decided to invest in the refurbishment of our lockers, so that students have lockers that meet the high standards expected at school. We are aware that the cost of living is impacting many families at the moment. In light of this, the school will assume the cost of this refurbishment and we will not be charging any locker rental fees this year.
3. Mobile Phones
Another element of the return to normality, is a change in the use of mobile phones on campus. Naturally every student has a phone and this is a vital means of communication for parents, as students commute to and from school. However, in line with the majority of other schools in Ireland, we will be reverting to a phone free school between the hours of 8.45 and 3.40. Students will be required to place their phones in a secure locked box on the outside of their locker. Please see link for further information:

Thank you to all the parents who gave us feedback on this topic. I know that there is general agreement that, for the mental health of our students, a phone free school is the best option. We have invested heavily in IT solutions for the classroom, to replace the use of phones.
On behalf of Mr. Fitzgerald, Mr. O'Riordan and the entire staff, we want to thank you all for your continued support.
