Ms. Mulholland's Last Class
Operation ‘Ms Mulholland’ was a clandestine affair, where students with gusto and speed collected money, ordered flowers and prepared speeches….. all in time for a surprise farewell for this much loved Geography teacher.
Ms Mulholland has honoured us with her expertise, knowledge and kindness for the last 22 years, and all the students were determined that her last day would be memorable.
Her 5th year Geography class were with her in her final moments of teaching, and along with her teaching colleagues did a guard of honour into the library, where the whole school community awaited her arrival.
Students from each year paid homage to this well-liked and dedicated teacher, many even broke into tears as they hugged her good bye. Aoibhe presented her with flowers from the 5th years, while Marija presented her with a handmade card and a present from the Juniors.
Finally, as a close colleague and friend of Ms Mulholland, I wish her a well-deserved rest as she embarks on a new phase in her life.
Her retirement can force us all to reflect on the power and importance of friendship.
