New Tree Programme
On Thursday, October 14th, First Year students from 1Rech and 1McCauley and their teachers began the process of planting some new trees.
Planting trees makes our school grounds look much nicer
- It also helps the people and the planet
- Trees absorb CO2 – one of the main causes of climate change.
- Trees clean the air we breathe.
- Green spaces and trees helps physical and mental health.
- Trees help sustain wildlife
- Future members of the school community will enjoy the trees
The trees were very small and fragile so it was decided to plant the three trees into a container for the winter and let them mature a little more indoors. Then, later in the year, they will be moved outside and planted in the grounds. It is hoped that they will grow as big and healthy as the other trees in the school grounds.
Tree planting is a great way for our students to connect with nature while helping the planet. It links to many areas of the curriculum like Science and History and it is also a fun project.
