Christmas Chocolate Corner
This Christmas our students will be holding a fundraising event. They will be creating a “Christmas Chocolate Corner”where you will be able to purchase hot chocolate and cookies. All proceeds will go to Barnardos who this year have partnered with Christmas FM to “Give the Gift of Childhood” where they hope to raise €250,000 to help change the lives of 5000 children living in poverty. The event is planned for the 21st and 22nd of December. Please support this worthy cause, and tune in to Christmas FM during the event to hear a shout out for St. Laurence College.
What does Barnardos do?
Every day across Ireland there are vulnerable children who are at risk. At risk from poverty, lack of opportunity or living in a home affected by violence or addiction. These children don’t deserve to live in fear or experience a childhood without joy. Christmas FM and their listeners can give the gift of childhood to over 5,000 vulnerable children, to bring joy into the lives and give them the joy of a Better Christmas and a Brighter New Year.
What does your donation really mean?
- €2 can provide a warm meal for a vulnerable child.
- €50 can help us to cover a month of warm, nutritious breakfasts for a vulnerable child.
- With €100, a child can get the essential supplies they need - such as warm winter coat,
shoes, hat and scarf.
- €250 can help a child access education by purchasing books, school supplied and educational
resources for our After School homework clubs to help a child believe in themselves.
- €500 can help a child hope for their future by providing 10 hours of intensive family support
to ensure a family has the coping skills and supports they need to succeed.
