As is tradition at St. Laurence College, a proud Marianist Le Chéile school, we came together as a school community to celebrate the beginning of the academic year with a special Mass on the 23rd of September. The liturgy, celebrated by Father Mike Reaume, reflected our shared commitment to faith, unity, and the values that guide us throughout the year.
Students from across all year groups participated in meaningful ways. A particularly moving moment came during the prayers of intercession, when several of our international students offered prayers in their native languages, reminding us of the rich diversity within our school and the universal nature of our faith.
The Mass was further enriched by beautiful music, especially the communion hymn performed by our 6th year student Saoirse Nolan, which created a reflective and prayerful atmosphere.
Our LIFE (Living In Faith Experience) group played a vital role in preparing and participating in the liturgy. Special thanks go to Hanna Khafagi, who returned this summer from the LIFE programme in Dayton, Ohio accompanied by our very own Ms Murphy. Hanna contributed significantly by helping to select the readings and managing the technical aspects of the celebration. We are deeply grateful to be part of the wider Marianist family, continuing our involvement in the LIFE programme alongside other Marianist schools.
