Please take time to read the following over the coming days with your son/daughter. Your support is most important to assisting us successfully reopening:

It is vital that your son/daughter attends school every day
● School begins each day at 8.45am and your son/daughter must arrive before that time
● There will be a staggered lunch like last year. Junior lunch will be at 12.20pm-1pm and Senior lunch will be 1pm-1.40pm
● There are 167 days in the school year this year therefore we appeal to parents not to book holidays during term time. Please see school calendar in the Student Journal before booking holidays
● The correct school uniform which must be worn to school each day.
● School tracksuit and runners are only to be worn on the day of the PE
● Students are not permitted to leave the school grounds at any time during the school day unless with permission from the school/Parent/Guardian
● All students will remain on campus for recess and lunch. Breakfast, snacks and hot lunch will be provided in our canteen without charge for every student. We will have options for those with dietary requirements daily.
● Lockers Students will not have use of a locker. This is to minimise congregation. Teachers will instruct students as to what books they need to bring to school.

Suspected Covid 19 Symptoms:

You should not send your son/daughter into school if they are showing any signs of illness. During the day, any student showing signs of illness must be collected immediately.
Visiting the school: No visitors are permitted into the school unless by prior arrangement/appointment. Parents attending an appointment must follow Covid 19 protocols. We cannot facilitate items being dropped off for students. Please respect this.
Foreign Travel: If you or any member of your family have been abroad or intend to go abroad in the near future please inform the school and adhere to the latest public health advice before returning to school.
Student Guidelines and Protocols during Covid 19 pandemic: The following measures will be implemented for everyone’s health and safety and any student who cannot adhere fully to these will be asked to remain and engage remotely

● Please ensure your son/daughter complies with the protective measures against Covid 19 at all times while in St Laurence College.
● Hand sanitising – Hand sanitisers are placed in areas around the school and students are expected to use them frequently.
● Coughing and sneezing etiquette must be maintained. Masks must be worn at all times inside the building.
● Maintaining physical distance – at least one metre in classroom situations at all times. No physical contact is allowed.

General Information:

Payments
Please click the "General" section on our school website. Further instructions are available here. Making a school Payment about how to make a payment using Easy Payment Plus. You should come across an itemised list and we would ask that you are careful when selecting items for payment from this list for your son/daughter.

Anti-Bullying Policy
We have a new Anti-Bullying Policy which we have uploaded to our school website. A short overview is in our school journals but please take time to read this important policy

Student Journal
The Student Journal has been designed to help both students and parents. Please ensure that your son/daughter writes down her homework, written and learning work, each day and please monitor and sign the journal on a weekly basis. It is also vital that parents ensure their son/daughter is doing homework each night and studying during the school year.

Contact Details
It is of utmost importance that the school has a correct contact phone number and address for parents/guardians in the case of an emergency. If your mobile number/address changes during the school year it is vital that you contact the school immediately and have the details on your daughter’s file changed.

School App and Communication
Our main way to communicate with parents is on our school app. Download the St Laurence College School App free (iclass CMS) from the app store. We will be issuing you with updates via your email. Please check this regularly

Parents Council

Our Parent’s Council are looking for new members and is a great way to have your voice heard. If you are interested in joining the Council please contact our school reception and we can put you in touch with our Chairperson Mary Kelly.

We will continue to update in the coming days. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. Shane FitzGerald
