Letter from Mr. FitzGerald

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As you know classes reverted to remote learning on Monday 11th for the month of January. At the time of writing to you we are awaiting updates from the Department of Education on the path ahead. We will bring any updates to you when we have them. What has been confirmed is that current Level 5 restrictions will remain in place nationally until March 5th. We have not yet been told about how schools will operate under these circumstances.

For information on remote learning please check our school website. We are constantly adding materials and updates in an effort to support you and our students. We are also adding information onto our school app. If you have a chance, please download this. It will contain all the information you will need. We have recently updated our Vs Ware app to include a Mail feature. This will allow our school to communicate with you easier. Please make sure that you have downloaded the Vs Ware app and are logging in regularly for updates and announcements.

We are aware of the difficulties faced by our families during this pandemic and we know that on-line education is a challenge. We ask that you continue to encourage your son/daughter to engage with online classes and school work to the greatest extent possible, but encourage you to be realistic about your child’s needs and your own needs. If there are any students who require support please let us know by emailing Yearheads and/or our Home School Community Liaison Officer - Mrs Joyce.

We are especially mindful of exam students and the stress that school closure can bring. When thinking about how we cope with uncertainty and stress, it can be helpful to remind ourselves of these three key messages:

● Stay Responsible & Informed
● Stay Active & Connected
● Stay Positive & Calm

To assist us in reviewing our remote learning process, we would ask you to take a few minutes to complete our online survey. The link will be sent to you via our school app/web and Vs Ware Mail On the following page we have created links to a range of resources which you may find helpful.

Please contact us on 01-282 6930 if you have any concerns. We are here to help.

Kind regards,

Mr. Shane Fitzgerald

Principal
