Transition Year Escape from Go Quest
On Wednesday September 28th, the Transition Year students went to Go Quest Junior in Carrickmines to enjoy various Escape Room activities.
The day started at 9:15 a.m. when the students walked to the LUAS stop in Cherrywood. Luckily, it was only a 15 to 20-minute journey from Cherrywood to Carrickmines.
When we arrived, we put our bags and coats in the lockers provided. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were all divided into teams of 5 people and then each team had to choose a name. Examples of the names we chose were Teletubbies, Queen and Arctic Monkeys. There was then a 5-minute video about the rules of the Escape Rooms. There were actually 29 Escape Rooms.
Each team was assigned a number and that was used to track their progress. The people in each team had to work together and complete certain challenges to get out of the rooms. For example, in one room the students had to play Musical Statues and the sensors in the room registered all movements. To escape that room everyone’s movements had to be perfect.
It was a very enjoyable experience but everyone was really tired afterwards. The challenges were demanding in both a physical and mental way.
It's always great to support a local activity provider! We will definitely go back to GO Quest!!
