The GAP is a downhill mountain bike park in Glencullen in the Dublin Mountains.

This was our first trip to the centre and after lots of trail riding this year in Ticknock and Ballinastoe we had a different mountain biking experience today.

We made sure we had our full face helmets buckled up and all our body armour strapped on before we mounted our full suspension steeds and headed for the uplift bus and trailer. After many a lung busting climb up Ballinastoe this year today we had an uplift for every run.

We found our 'flow' on the Blue Trails. We jumped and dropped off megaliths on two of the red trails. We descended down through the mystical forest to the uplift before doing it alll again and again and again..... well until we got tired and the uplifts stopped and we got hungry.

We had mega burgers from The GAP Kitchen. We talked about sketchy moments, gnarly sections and perfect runs outside on the picnic benches before the adrenaline died down and we had to head back to Ballybrack.

We usually have a 'Man of the Mountain' on our trips but today we had a 'Lady of the Mountain' and that was Ms. Scanlon. Ms. Scanlon embraced the challenge of this big mountain adventure day. She quckily learned the attack position on the mega and enjoyed lots of runs down the flow trails. And when thrills unfortunately turned to spills for two of the lads towards the end of the morning she looked after them as they recovered back down at the trail centre HQ.

A big thank you to Matt and Lisa and all the staff in The GAP for looking after us today. And to the staff in the KITCHEN for the delicious food and service.

We will be back again to shred the trails very soon but for now enjoy the photos from today.
