Board of Management of Management Letter to Parents- Advertisement for School Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

I wish to inform you that the Board on Management will be advertising the position of Principal of St. Laurence College next week.

The position arises because Mr. Billy Redmond, who has been on Career Break since 2018, has been appointed as Principal of North Wicklow ETSS. We wish Mr. Redmond every success in his role and thank him for his many years of service in SLC as both teacher and Principal.

Mr. Ronan Coffey has served the College as Principal for the past two years and will continue in the role until 31st August 2020. He has, however, indicated that he wishes to return to teaching 1st September next.

I know that you will also join me in thanking Mr. Coffey for his untiring commitment over the past two years. His work has been incredible and his spirit of enthusiasm and encouragement for all has been infectious throughout. Parents, Students and Staff will really miss his presence as Principal, but appreciate his decision. His students of Maths and Business will be especially thrilled to have him back to themselves as their highly respected teacher and mentor.

I will be in touch with you again, as soon as the Board of Management has appointed a successor. In the meantime, I wish you all well in these strange and challenging times.

Thank you for your continued support.

Catherine Moynihan,
Chairperson, Board of Management.
